No.272 SPEEDY SOCKS No.2 Knitting pattern

The SPEEDY SOCKS No. 2 - Chunky Light are knitted from the toe to the cuff. The top and leg feature a 2x1 rib pattern, and the sole is worked in stockinette stitch. They are knitted in the round from the toe to the opening, then in rows. The heel is shaped by decreases. Finally, the SPEEDYs are given a long cuff.

The house socks are called SPEEDY because they can actually be knitted super fast – using 3 strands of thin sock yarn and 5.0 mm knitting needles.

Sizes: 35/36 (37/38) 39/40 (41/42) 43/44 (45/46)

Techniques used: knit and purl stitches, increases and decreases – no complicated heel required. All techniques used are explained directly in the instructions, some with videos.

The following is needed:

• 3 balls of 50g sock yarn: SOCKS by WoolAffair LL 210m/50g = knit with 3 strands
• Yarn consumption: 35/36 = 110g 37/38 = 120g 39/40 = 130g 41/42 = 140g 43/44 = 150g 45/46 = 160g
• (for sizes 43 – 46, an additional 50g of sock yarn or knit the cuffs a little shorter)
• Double-pointed needles size 5 mm
• 2 RAFFY pull-on loops
• Tapestry needle without a point, scissors

Gauge: stockinette stitch with NS 5.0mm _ 10 x 10 cm = 17 sts x 23 rows
